Mountain Rescue

Since more than 100 years the mountain rescue aids to those who find themselves in serious difficulties in the mountains and are in need of assistance.

The section Wildhorn contributes with the rescue stations of Lenk, Zweisimmen and Erlenbach to the nationwide supply of this service in Switzerland.

Focus of the mountain rescue is the search and rescue of injured persons in alpine areas, as well as advice and assistance at major incidents.

There are over 70 SAC rescue specialists at the command of the section Wildhorn in the region of the Simmental, Saanenland and Diemtigtal. They are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. They are optimally skilled and perform the challenges motivated and voluntary.
